Godson Michel serves as the dynamic President of Blue Surge Marketing Agency, a leading full-service firm offering comprehensive solutions in advertising, website development, and strategic communication consulting.
Hailing from a background of humble beginnings as the firstborn child of West Indian immigrants, Godson's journey into marketing took an unconventional turn. Initially on the path to a career in medicine as a physician assistant, fate intervened when he launched a sneaker business from his mother's basement to fund his college education. What began as a means to cover textbook expenses swiftly evolved into a thriving e-commerce empire, encompassing two apparel brands and an acclaimed sneaker trade show, propelling him to $1 million in revenue by the age of 23.
His entrepreneurial prowess and groundbreaking achievements have garnered national acclaim, with features in esteemed publications such as Newsday, Content Marketing Institute, and Voyage ATL Magazine. Prior to his role at Blue Surge, Godson co-owned Shades of Long Island, a regional media outlet championing the voices of underrepresented minorities, millennials, and Gen Z'ers.
Committed to giving back, Godson actively engages in community initiatives as a member of esteemed organizations like 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc. and Urban League of Long Island. A proud alumnus of Touro College and SUNY Farmingdale, he continues to expand his horizons as a member of the prestigious 2023-24 Ascend Long Island cohort, a business accelerator for minority-owned enterprises.
